Welcome to LITE...

Two years ago the State of Louisiana, the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, came together and formed an extraordinary partnership to build a state-of-the-art advanced visualization facility in Lafayette, Louisiana for the purpose of economic development.  Today their visualization of what might be impossible has become possible and their vision has come to fruition with a state-of-the-art visualization facility, Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise, more commonly known as LITE.   LITE now stands proudly at the corner of Cajundome Boulevard and Devalcourt Street and provides advanced supercomputing data visualization services for organizations and groups engaged in projects for commercial industry, government and/or research.

LITE is a cutting-edge advanced visualization facility that delivers a compelling collaborative ecosystem for researchers from a variety of disciplines – both public and private – to utilize 3D immersive data visualization technologies and resources powered by high-performance supercomputing. Until today these data visualization services were only feasible for industry giants.  Now, industry, government, and university sectors have access to essential decision-making tools for collaborative research, application development, testing and validation, product development and training.

LITE’s Strategic Technology Partners include: Global Data Systems, LITE’s Systems Integrator operates the Network Operations Center (NOC); Christie Digital provides the display solutions and the system integration, and James River Technical provides project scope; and Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI), LITE’s IT strategic partner.
